Elveden is a 22,500-acre country estate, of which over 10,000 acres is farmland. We are a diverse farming business and operate on 9,500 acres of silt land. Wherever possible we invest in the latest technology and equipment to enhance and challenge our team to continually improve their skills.
Our farming business operates across 4 separate geographic areas, and we are looking for summer students on three of those sites. We have vacancies for students in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire. We are seeking applicants who are currently studying Agriculture at any level, but with a focus on arable, root vegetable or technical.
You will be given exposure to various aspects of our business gaining hands on experience from field operations to the loading and transporting of produce for grading and storage.
This is a varied role, students displaying a real aptitude, passion and enthusiasm, may be given the opportunity to receive further training on more specialised equipment.
We are looking for applicants with a full driving licence, team player and ability to work in with others. During the height of the season you will need to be adaptable and flexible with regards to your working hours to include weekends.
Commencing mid-July through to September/October depending on educational commitments. This will give you invaluable experience and an insight in to working on a commercial farm enabling you to develop key practical skills and knowledge.
Basic pay is £8.20per hour up to 40hours with overtime being paid at time and a quarter.
Accommodation is available at a nominal fee.

Job Title Operation, Technical and Basic Agronomy trainee
Based at Elveden Farms Ltd Elveden Norfolk IP24 3TQ
We are offering a unique opportunity for somebody looking to experience both the operational, technical and an insight into the agronomy side of root vegetable and combinable crop production.
The position will start at a practical level helping secure the combinable crop and then root vegetable harvests. The type of practical tasks experienced at this stage will depend on the level of tractor driving skills you currently possess or are able to demonstrate. There will also be opportunity to work within our pre- and post-harvest technical team learning about crop quality and meeting customer specifications and expectations.
For the next cropping year, you will be able to experience field visits with our technical team and independent agronomists , plus build your understanding of the challenges faced at different crop stages. There will also be the chance to further refine your machine operation skills as we move into the second harvest.
