An excellent opportunity to join a superb team in managing our 22,500 acre legacy Estate. We are a world class producer of fresh produce, marketing our onions and potatoes under our own brands; Elveden Produce and Garden of Elveden, supplying the supermarket, wholesale & processing sectors.
We are now seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to support the Farm Manager in the smooth and efficient day to day running of the business. This will include the planning of work priorities and the supervision of operators with regard to safety, quality, output and efficiency. Applications from a current Farm Foreman looking for the next step would be welcomed.
The Assistant Farm Manager will be expected to have a working knowledge of all the machinery associated with the operations of a large root vegetable and arable business and have the desire to further enhance that knowledge with experience. They will also be required to support the functions of the technical, workshop, onion grader and potato storage teams.
Daily core functions will include but not be exclusive to;
• Creation of working plans
• Supervision and effective management
• Planning, actioning and direction of daily resource management
• Liaison with the Workshop Manager to ensure all operations are running effectively
• Managing availability of all resources, equipment, logistics, supplies, deliveries & storage
• Ensure day to day customer relationships are efficient and effective

Elveden Instant Hedge have been growing mature instant hedge and screening since the late 1990s based at the Estate’s field nurseries in Suffolk. During that time, our dedicated nursery team have perfected the premium instant hedge and screening product which we now offer in fourteen different varieties, delivering a range of hedges to suit every garden or development need.
We sell our product through a number of distributors, direct to the trade and to retail customers. As a result of significant growth in recent years we are now looking to build on that further with the introduction of a Commercial Manager who will have the necessary experience and network of contacts to grow our business further.
At least 5 years’ experience in the landscaping and/or horticultural sectors
A strong understanding of horticultural markets and their drivers
Well regarded within the industry and a strong network of contacts
Able to work as part of a diverse team but with the drive to succeed on your own initiative
Commercially aware, able to prepare budgets, forecasts and business cases
Maintain existing and develop new strategic relationships with our customer base
Identify new areas of sales and new applications for our product
Increase our visibility in the marketplace
Develop our marketing strategy
Work with our nursery team to reduce cost and to develop alternative offerings
The role will require extensive travel mainly within the UK. We offer an attractive package with remuneration in line with experience, a market leading pension and a company vehicle.

The Elveden Inn is seeking experienced Front of House team members – with the WOW factor! Hours 30-40, 5 days per week
Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible
Collect and wash up pots and pans
Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery
Unload food and equipment deliveries
Keep the storeroom organised
Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised
