SUMMER INSPIRED MENU ARRIVES AT ELVEDEN
The Development Chef at Elveden Estate, Peter McBurnie has been inspired by the recent stint of hot, glorious weather and has created a collection of Starters, Light Bites and Desserts to complement these smouldering afternoons.
The Menu has taken on an “al fresco” style, perfect for an afternoon in the Courtyard of the Elveden restaurant, with Toasted Strips of Pitta Bread accompanied by homemade hummus, tzatziki and marinated olives with feta cheese, as a perfect light bite or sharing starter. The introduction of an Elveden Ploughman’s has proved popular, including pork pie, Elveden pickled onions, locally cured ham and for a fresh summer kick, the estates own Elvedenilli and Elveden Pickle, made with Elveden produce. The menu also includes a Greek salad, with raspberry vinegar, homemade Focaccia Bread with a horseradish vinegar dip and a Chicken and Boiled Ham Terrine.
Desserts are “kicking” up a storm, with summer inspired Iced Honey and Oat Parfait, elegantly placed in a mouth watering butterscotch sauce. An Elveden inspired sundae has been created, with a secret ingredient to tickle your taste buds! A Chocolate Delice with Tulie biscuit and homemade pistachio ice cream is perfect for an afternoon treat and the final addition is a light, summery Pavlova Vacherin with a homemade chocolate and pecan sauce. All desserts can be served with one, two or several spoons, depending on just how much of the summer tastes you wish to share!
